Captain's log, star date 01032007
It's not because my (well, our) wedding announcement had a Star Trek touch, or because I own an English-Klingon dictionary as well as a USS Enterprise telephone, or because I went to a Star Trek convention in Düsseldorf once, that you can call me a Trekkie.

Let's just say I used to be a big fan, especially of TOS and TNG *. And of course, I have seen all the films. So, just a small expression of happiness: YES!!! Star Trek XI is on its way. According to the official info, it will be a prequel revolving around the characters of Kirk and Spock. Excellent! Christmas 2008 in US cinemas? Early 2009 in Europe... I think I'll manage to wait that long. Live long and prosper!
* The Original Series (Kirk, Spock, Bones, Scotty, Uhura, Chekov, Sulu and all the rest) and The Next Generation (Picard, Counsellor Troy, Riker, Data, LaForge, Worf, Dr Crusher, etcetera). But, as a one-time fan, you knew that, of course. Or do you have the chutzpah to tell me you never used to watch Star Trek? In that case: shame on you! ;-)
