According to Marc, Goose is the band to keep an eye on in Belgium at the moment. Musically (or otherwise :-) ) I do not always agree with him, but this time I think he just might be spot on...
According to the bio, the band "and their new album are poised for big things in 2006. Formed in the summer of 2000 as an antidote to school leaver's malaise, they started gigging as an almost AC/DC covers band with very, very lengthy guitar solos... However, on their first visit to a studio they chanced upon and old synth and fell in love with it. Out went the excessive guitar solos and in came a new band member. A year of gigging later Goose won the Belgian National contest Humo Rock Rally. Later in 2002 they recorded their debut single 'Audience' with producer Teo Miller (Placebo - Nancy Boy). Follow up 'Good Times' spent 10 weeks in the Belgian charts. But it was when Coca Cola used 'Audience' for their TV adverts across Europe and the band played live at Popkomm in 2004 that word began to spread."
Goose signed up with Skint records earlier this year and can be seen performing live at Dour Festival and Boomtown in Belgium as well as Nottingham, Glasgwow, London and Liverpool...
Thanks for the tip Serge. My sister's in Nottingham so I might see if I can check them out. I'm intrigued to see what an AC/DC covers band with an added synth sounds like

Uhm... something like Soulwax nite versions, but slightly different. Does that make any sense to you?
